APS (American Paramedical Services) Ambulance Service provides local and long distant non-emergency Ambulance transportation. APS was incorporated in 1996 under the laws of the state of Missouri. APS is licensed as a ground ambulance service by the Missouri Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services, and operates at the advanced life support level. APS was originally created in 1994 by two paramedics as a standby EMS service called Missouri Medical Standby, for events such as rodeos and races. In 1996, APS was contracted to provide EMS for the Lake Lotawana district outside of Kansas City. Shortly thereafter, APS applied for for an ambulance license in Pettis County which was also being served by Lifeguard EMS, a private service based in Blue Springs, Mo. After a long appeal process, APS was granted an ambulance license for the Sedalia / Pettis County area. APS thrived and has been able to provide an outstanding level of care and coverage to the community. Sedalia / Pettis county changed to a ambulance district changing the focus of APS. APS then moved to the KC metro area to assist with the over burdened ambulance and hospital systems. By providing non-emergency interfacility transportation. APS provides both basic life support and advanced life support ambulance transportation allowing us to handle up to the most critical interfacility transports.
